Aimee & Matthew's modern, chevron wedding stationery

I am stoked that the time has finally come to blog this project! Aimee contacted me in January about designing her custom wedding invitations after finding me via the Detroit Urban Craft Fair. When she told me her design direction (modern & graphic, chevrons, a bold color palette and "maybe a little Model T somewhere"), I did a silent cheer to the graphic design gods. I may have even done the cha-ching move from the early 90's, so it was fortunate this conversation was happening over email. I worked with Aimee and Matthew to carry their unique wedding vision into a custom self-mailer invitation with a tear-off rsvp postcard, information card insert with an illustrated Detroit map, programs, menus and coordinating thank-you cards. Their venue was the historic Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, which is the birthplace of the Model T, and I loved Aimee's ideas to incorporate custom illustrations of both a Model T and the building's facade. Once we had the designs nailed down, all the pieces were screenprinted locally at VGKids.

These are just photos I took myself so you really need to visit to Mary Wyar Photography see just how cool this wedding was. To Aimee and Matthew, cheers! You guys really nailed it.
