This post is extra special because it features two of my very best friends and their magical rescue dog, Monte! Maura and Andy planned a relaxed and intimate Ann Arbor wedding that was so much fun and so perfectly them. They are lovers of art and nature, and so the original plan was an outdoor ceremony at Nichols Arboretum followed by a downtown reception at the Ann Arbor Art Center. Of course, in Michigan you can never predict the weather and that day we woke up to rain and high winds, so the ceremony was moved to the Art Center's industrial loft space, which was perfect and gorgeous. It was a night of craft cocktails, gourmet food, endless dancing and a crazy amount of love.
Maura and Andy are also music lovers so for their save the dates we used one of their favorite concert posters as inspiration to create a custom design with their silhouettes. For the invitation suite, they wanted something that was simple and modern that would reflect both the plans for the outdoor ceremony and the downtown gallery reception, so we used the the Minimalist suite and customized it with birch branches and leaves, which is Andy's favorite tree. For day-of designs, we added coordinating programs, menus, custom cocktail napkins and an art canvas gallery sign, which served as the welcome sign before the ceremony and also functioned as a guest book during the reception. Friends and family added messages with a gold sharpie to create an autographed keepsake for Maura and Andy to hang in their new home.
Congratulations Andy and Maura! Love you guys!!
