Styled Shoot: Dogwood invitations for Southern Weddings Mag

*Update*: The Dogwood suite is now available to order online! Find it here.

It was so fun contributing these stationery designs for a dogwood-themed editorial in the newest issue of  Southern Weddings Magazine. Dogwood is the official flower of North Carolina, where each year the blooming trees herald the arrival of spring. I've lived in Michigan for most of my life and I don't think I have ever seen a blooming dogwood tree in person, but after researching imagery for this project, I'm really looking forward to the day I do.

I used vintage botanical prints as my design inspiration, and combined the floral graphics with a mix of simple fonts, banners, and quotes so that all the pieces were cohesive with the editorial style direction. To me, a really special invitation suite must contain a few really special, personal touches, so I included a little icon of North Carolina and an illustrated map of Chapel Hill. The awesome calligraphy for the bride and groom's names and envelope was penned by Nicole Black .
